Forever sharing this perfect maternity session of Anna and Paul. What makes this one even more special is that I have known Anna since high school.

It really does feel like just yesterday we were freezing on the beach, and honestly… with this weather lately, it might as well have been.

It’s beautiful working with people from bump to baby. With their due date shortly approaching, the anticaption and nesting. The finalizing of the last details of their nursery. It’s so special being invited back over and over again to document your special milestones.

Beach maternity sessions like this are such a dream, even in the cold. If you’re expecting and looking for a Chicago or North Shore maternity photographer, this is your sign. You don’t need perfect weather, just a story worth remembering. 🩵

The more paws, the merrier 🤍 🐾

& there was another four-legged fur friend not pictured that deserves his very own moment on my feed, soon.

I always notice how animals respond the second I walk in. There’s this quiet trust that settles in, and your cats just kind of know they’re safe to be themselves. I never mind them being close. Honestly, I love it. It makes everything feel more like you. I’m not even a cat person, but when they are this sweet I want 5, easily.

During your newborn session, nothing gets pushed away or staged out. If your cat wants to curl up next to the baby or follow us from room to room, they’re part of it. Those are the moments that end up meaning the most later on. The real ones you didn’t have to think about. You will always hear me say “do you have any pets, maybe a cat hiding somewhere?” to try and get them to at least make an appearance for the memories.

Including your fur baby in your family photos or newborn session just feels right. They’re not just a pet, they’re part of your story, your home, your everything. The curious sniffs, the way they stay close when everything is new… those are the moments you’ll want to remember too.

No need for perfect behavior or a perfectly trained pup. Just presence, love, and a little bit of chaos that makes it yours. I work extremely well with dogs, and they sense it. Trust me.. people end up shocked when their dog acts calmer than they expected with me. ☺️ (so I’ve been told) haha

If your hospital is on my list, I can often drop in. Just let me know soon after birth, and we’ll have a day or two to plan.

By choosing a photographer you love, you get a personal style, a known price in advance, and a relaxed, intentional session. Prices can vary by hospital, and sometimes a custom photographer’s rate is just as competitive (even more affordable).

And no stress.. if you need a bit more time if you pre-booked, we can easily convert to an in-home newborn session. Let’s keep it simple, beautiful, and all about you. 🤍
