I haven’t shown my face on here in a whileeeeee, so hi, hello, I’m McKayla!! I’ve been shooting weddings and elopements for almost 10yrs and in 2025 was the first time I actually sat down and really thought about who I am as someone who documents for a living. One word has been a constant as I’ve navigated who I am as a person, friend, and photographer/videographer, “soft.” I used to believe, to be successful, I needed to be full of energy constantly. I wouldn’t be seen if I was anything else. But now, being in my 30’s, I’ve discovered that being quiet, being still, being soft, is just as important. Finding my style, where I fit in, has been quite the journey. I think I’m slowly getting there. In 2026, my goal is to share more of my true self. The softer side, the observant.
If you’d ask me what my style is, I would say soft, colorful, full of texture and true to color. It’s the first time in my career that I know exactly the direction I’m going in, and I’m so excited to share that with my couples and families this year💌🤍
