I can't tell you how many times Dad asks... "So, we want the baby to sleep for pictures?!?!" (NOT HER DADDY)

BUT, when you're a newborn photographer... there is so much time put in to getting a baby cozy, comfy and sleepy!

Not because we don't love those open eyed shots, because OH WE DO...

I mean just look at her big beautiful eyes!
..but because sleepy babies are happy & relaxed! Awake babies can be less posable and an unwrapped freshie in/on props just isn't safe for wake babies PLUS it's REALLY hard to get a new baby to look AT the camera.

Typically, the open eyed shots happen at the very beginning when the baby is checking me out or end the end when baby has had enough of my crap.

But man, when we get the open eyed shots...
THEY. ARE. GORGEOUS.
