Here’s the thing though. The difference between a good venue and the RIGHT venue usually isn’t how it looks in photos. It’s how it feels when you’re in it. Whether the day flows or you spend the whole time being pulled in ten directions. Whether you actually get to be there.

So before you book anything, ask yourself this: can you picture yourself actually relaxing there? Not posing, not managing the timeline... just laughing, hugging your people, maybe forgetting what time it is for a second.

If that part is hard to picture, it’s probably not the one.

I’ve seen some conversation lately about photographer teams, and I just wanted to share a little bit about how ours actually works because I think it’s worth talking about

The AFP team is a small group of women who genuinely love what they do. Not a roster of photographers I pulled from a directory. People I know, trust, and have watched show up for couples the way I’d show up for them myself.

We share the same values, the same approach, and the same belief that your wedding day should feel easy and joyful and completely yours.

When you book with AFP, you’re not getting a stranger. You’re getting someone who has been brought into this community intentionally, who cares about the experience as much as the photos, and who I’d personally vouch for every single time.

One thing I’ll say about having a team: it means every single photographer shows up to your wedding fully present, fully energized, and completely focused on you. Nobody’s running on fumes from the weekend before. That’s something I’m really excited about.

I am so proud of the women I’ve built this team with. They are ridiculously talented — and more importantly, they are kind, genuine humans who treat every couple like they matter.

And it’s not just location. We’ll talk through timing (golden hour is always a favorite), what to wear, what to expect, and how the whole session flows so you show up feeling ready instead of rushed.

The architecture is timeless. Those massive columns, the stunning dome, the grand steps - it’s classy and elegant that photographs beautifully in any season. 
The variety is unmatched. You can shoot on the Capitol Square with the building as your backdrop, on the steps for something more intimate, or inside the building itself for dramatic architectural shots.

When you gather the right women, magic happens 🍊✨ 
I’m still smiling from this styled shoot I hosted with my friend and I’m so incredibly proud of the team 🥹 
We brought a fun, summer-inspired citrus moodboard to life - Aperol spritz tower, custom cookies, and all the bright, joyful vibes with incredible florals 
The vendor team showed up with energy, creativity, and genuine care for each other’s work. My team of photographers brought that same collaborative spirit - working together seamlessly to capture every detail and every moment. Watching everyone collaborate, problem-solve on the fly, and hype each other up? That’s the kind of community I’m so grateful to be part of. 🫶
