Went for a walk. Took time for myself to do what I haven’t done in forever - take photos of random people and random things ✨☀️🌻

I have spent my entire life putting so much time & so much effort into my education because that’s what I was told to do. But i didn’t do it just because I was told to, I did it because I knew I could. I achieved. I excelled. I went above and beyond in everything I did. I spent years on the honor roll, I was in the gifted and talented, I spent all my 4 years in high school in AP classes.

I did the same when I got to college. I spent years studying, losing sleep, stressing, and although at times it was wretched, I pushed through.

It wasn’t until recently that I realized my grades and my successes didn’t define all of me. It was merely a piece. What does define me is the life I led outside of my education because no one prepped me for that, no one advised me on how to live life and how to do it properly. I taught myself how to do that. My friends taught me how to be care free and taught me how to love. I learned about self-care and self-love. I gave myself a break if things didn’t go a certain way, especially when it came to my grades. My time in college taught me so much more than just my major, it taught me how to be a badass Native adult in the “white mans world” 💅

So yeah, I can’t wait to see what my next lesson is but for now, I will be celebrating the end of this beautiful yet exhausting era - here’s to finally completing college🥂
