I was deeply saddened to hear that the Barber-Tucker House burned down today.
Built in 1904, this beautiful historic home sat on nearly an acre here in Moultrie. With its huge wrap-around porch, upper balcony, grand staircase, wood floors, wainscoting, crown moulding, crystal chandelier, and over 5,500 square feet, it was truly one of the most stunning homes in our town.
Over the years I had the privilege of photographing this house four different times. Through that, I became friends with the owner, Melanie. She cared for the home so beautifully and filled it with warmth and hospitality.
One of my favorite memories there was when she hosted a baby shower for a dear friend of mine. Instead of payment for a photo session, we traded. Melanie decorated the house so elegantly and created the most incredible spread of treats and drinks. It was such a beautiful day and a memory I know my friend will always hold in her heart.
It’s hard to believe that such a historic and meaningful place is now gone. Homes like this aren’t just buildings — they are places where memories are made and stories unfold.
I’m grateful I had the opportunity to photograph it and capture a small piece of its beauty and history.
I am adding the link to the photos I took for barber-tucker house.
The first session I did was in November of 2019. I was hired by Moultrie Magazine to document the historic home and the owners.
A piece of Moultrie's history that can continue to live through these photographs ♥️
