Currently on the StairMaster, trying to come up with a caption… and honestly, I could go the predictable route. You know, drop a song lyric, say something poetic about love, gush about how incredible these two are. Which, to be fair… they are. Truly some of the most beautiful humans, and the joy they radiated all day was unreal. It really was magical. And I’m not just saying that.
But instead, I’m gonna tell you a little story. Because this one matters.
Back in 2022, I met a random friend from a Facebook group to go on a hike. That one decision led me to meeting my now bestie, Kate. She took a chance on me when I was still figuring it all out. She hired me to photograph her team and the cycle studio she worked at. All because someone told her I was a great photographer.
At the time, I was a deeply unhappy government employee, just trying to scrape together enough clients to get out of a job that was draining the life out of me lol.
That one shoot changed everything.
Through Kate, I gained an entire community of people who supported me with their whole chest. Her friends, her coworkers, her family… like, everyone. And then one of her best friends, Amanda (who worked at the cycle studio) brought her dogs to my Santa Paws event for the Big Dogs Huge Paws rescue we do every year. The next year, Amanda told her friend Riley to bring her dog too. At the time, I had no idea any of that was connected.
Fast forward… I get an inquiry from a guy in Florida who wants to propose during a ski trip. He tells me his sister referred me, and I’m like.. who the heck?? So I go full detective mode, dig through emails, and realize… it all traced back to the same circle of people.
A full circle moment.
