Now showing in Upper Gallery I: Photography by Cathy Russ.

Cathy has been chasing streetscapes and landscapes for over 30 years, and the range shows, her portfolio spans locations around the world. Her eye is tuned to the unusual: the moment, the light, the thing most people walk past. Her work has been published on calendars, books, canvas, and metal.

She lives in Morro Bay, which means the Central Coast is never far from the frame.

On view June 1–29. Reception on Sat. June 13th 3–5pm.

It is fun using AI to place my photographs in a living room setting. It actually encouraged me to print them in larger sizes for my upcoming show at the Gallery at Marine Square!

Up close and personal. These stallions were stunning to watch. Their watchful eyes were always scanning the herd, watching, protecting and keeping the girls in line.

Onaqui Wild Horses have access to approximately 400,000 acres which they call home. This year there appeared to be greener than in past years. They graze cattle and sheep on this BLM land as well, so it is pretty grazed down, there's always time for a roll in the dust, a time to nuzzle and to goad someone into a fight. Some of the days the winds were reaching 40-50 mph. But like the horses, we endure the elements just to be around them.

We start early in the morning looking for the horses. There is no guarantee they will be in the same location as they were the night before. The quite early mornings or the sunset evenings are the times to reflect on the beauty that is before you, I am thankful I am able to witness the beginning of a new day. It is exciting to witness two siblings having fun, learning to spare and grow into the stallions they will be come. As two strong stallions showing strength and power to the beauty of the lone runner. These wild, magnificent, creatures have my heart!

Couldn't ask for anything better than being among the Onaqui wild horses. It was an amazing 4 days with weather from calm; high winds bring lots of dust to snow. This was a high wind day causing the horses to be restless creating lots of dust!! When horses from different bands come into a watering hole, tempers can flare. The stallion's challenge each other to establish dominance, defend territory, and protect their herd. It is a sight to behold!

Still at it! Working on more Yellowstone pictures. Such amazing and beautiful creatures. $ -russ.pixels.com
