Four New Exhibitions Opening March 6th
First Friday at Lancaster Art Vault!
Join us at Lancaster Art Vault for First Friday on March 6th as we celebrate the opening of four new exhibitions throughout the gallery along with a special book signing featuring artist and author Marcy Stone and her newest release, "Ten Years In: Following Grief Toward Meaning".
In the Main Gallery “Presence – Exploring the Human Form and Experience” is a dynamic exploration of the human form and the human experience in all its expressions. Rooted in figurative work and portraiture, yet extending into symbolic and abstract interpretations, the exhibition reflects on identity, emotion, memory, movement, and connection. Featuring guest artists Cheryl Elmo, David Timothy, Jason Ward, Jeanine Pennell, Rebecca Carpenter, Sandra Sedmak Engel, and Emerging Artist Ceanna Davis, alongside 25+ Call Selected Artists, "Presence" invites viewers to consider the many ways human presence can be seen, felt, and understood.
Showing on our Resident Artist feature wall is "Quiet Abundance", where Melissa Zane turns her attention to moments of stillness in the natural world. Ponds anchor the exhibition as spaces of reflection and quiet accumulation, while flowers, insects, trees, and water reveal the delicate reciprocity that sustains life. Multidisciplinary artist Kat Chapman explores identity, beauty, and personal mythmaking. Drawing from traditions of portraiture, fashion illustration, and decorative arts, "Boys’ Love" examines narrative and selfhood through a lens that both embraces and resists ornament and allure.
The U-Gallery presents the work of Angela Lapioli, Jon Bond, Marilyn Fox, and Steffany Minotti—four artists united by their exploration of inner life and the natural or domestic worlds that shape it. From intuitive abstractions and rural landscapes to layered nonobjective compositions and emotionally resonant figurative work, this exhibition creates a thoughtful dialogue between observation, memory, and lived experience.
From 5:30–7:30 PM, guests are also invited to join artist and author Marcy Stone for a special book signing celebrating her newest release, "Ten Years In: Following Grief Toward Meaning". Written a decade after the loss of her daughter, the book offers a deeply honest reflection on resilience, forgiveness, and creative becoming. Meet Marcy, hear the story behind the book, and have your copy personally signed.
