The oldest operating single chairlift in the U.S. is in Vermont at Mad River Glen and it began operating in 1948.

A variety of community partners have been hard at work over the last several years to ensure long term public access to another beautiful stretch of Vermont. The story features several photos we captured for the Trust for Public Land, which played a key role in securing funding for this project... We highly recommend visiting the Wallingford and White Rocks area when you get the chance, and spending a day or much more exploring it's unique forests, rocky outcroppings, wetlands and viewpoints...

A popular trail system previously maintained by a local family on private property has been acquired as federal land in Wallingford.
