Lauren Rose Photography My name is Lauren and I am an Eastern North Carolina portrait photographer. I am also a wife and mama to my sweet little baby boy, Atlas.

photographer turned author ๐Ÿ“š
blending extreme sports into sweeping romances ๐Ÿ–ค living a true life fairytale married to my skydiving veteran and raising two boys! I love Mac and cheese, The Office, and reading in my cozy reading nook! I have been involved in photography for well over a decade and I started making it into a business in 2016. I love photography because it captures a moment in time per

manently that you can relive for years. Whether you want to capture a military homecoming, the birth of your newest family member, or a family session for the fun of it, I value every client and strive to make your experience one you will never forget. My style of photography aims to capture you in your most authentic, purest self through use of natural light and bad jokes. In all of my sessions, be prepared to laugh a lot, look longingly into your significant otherโ€™s eyes, and create memories that will be captured in an image you will cherish for a lifetime.

LIFE UPDATE!

This month, I would have started my tenth year in business. This month, I am closing my doors *mostly* permanently.

WHEW! That was crazy to type!

What started as a way for me to pay for my graduate degree, turned into a full time business that allowed me to pay off all my student loans, recover from the loss of our home during hurricane Florence, finance my family through the birth of our two beautiful boys, donate to charities more than I ever dreamed possible and allowed me to take my family on many international vacations. And most importantly, because of this job, I was able to stay at home and raise my babies. Thank you will never be enough!

Yet, through all of that, there was a dream ever present on my mind. I'm so excited to share that I am now pursuing that dream full time. For the last year, I have been working full-time as a photographer while also waking up before my early rising children to make my dreams come true. Let me be frank, we have no village lol. It was a tough year and I had to wake up between 4-5 most days to realize this dream. But it's happening!

I'm still hesitant to share because it feels too good to be true but also because I've not had an offer I've accepted yet. I'm still fighting to find a place in this extremely elite, inclusive industry but... I'm actively seeking representation to traditionally publish my NOVEL. If you made it this far, then I guess I have to thank you for your support and share the secret I've been keeping for the past year. I WROTE A BOOK!!!

While I'm in pursuit of the perfect agent and publisher, I'm devoting all my free time, the approximately 60 minutes a day haha, to revisions and my kiddos. What that means for all my loyal, long-standing clients: I will miss you! If you are a friend, family member, or a client whom I have worked with at least 2x before, I will still be more than willing to work with you if you love my work that much. I will be accepting cash only, tax free, and on a very exclusive basis, maybe one per month? I love you all so much and I'm so thank full for your support. This is hard to type, and scary to put out into the world, but after almost a decade of business success, I know its time. I'm ready for more time with my kids, more time with my chickens, more gardening, and of course, more writing time!

Thank you!!!

*The first photo I took last night to signify the past decade, the rest of the photos are my favorites from the almost decade of business. Enjoy!

*KRISTEN'S STORY*

This is perhaps the most important session I've been so lucky to photograph to date. This is my incredible neighbor and friend, Kristen. She's been battling stage four breast cancer for a year now and has done so with more positivity and grace than I knew a person could have. Seriously, she's so upbeat about everything even when her journey has included chemo treatments, radiation, and a double mastectomy.

I've been trying to get her in front of my camera for awhile now since they've never had family photos but it's been hard! I've pestered and prodded her knowing how important it is to capture this stage in her life, but it's always been the wrong timing. When I think about it, it makes sense though. It's hard to feel beautiful in a world that glorifies never-ending body modifications and treatments and I can't imagine how much harder it is when suddenly your hair is gone and you've had surgery to remove the cancerous tissues from your body.

So, one day I had an idea to give her a bit of pampering to take the stress away of planning and preparing for a photo session. Her husband agreed and with his help, we successfully surprised Kristen with a fun day of pampering treatments with the photo shoot at the end of the day. I'm so glad she did this and I'm so thankful to have been the one God trusted to bring this vision to fruition! Isn't she stunning?! I've told her before and I feel like it needs to be said a million times, no one can pull off a head scarf the way she can. She's a courageous fighter and an amazing wife and mother, please keep her in your thoughts ands prayers as she continues to battle cancer

2025 check in!

It was never my intention to take off the last few months from posting or sharing updates, but life was a bit messy and chaotic for a while for my little fam. I'm wrapping up my ninth year of business this year and the pressure to constantly evolve and change and come up with new ideas felt like a lot. On top of that, I also raise my two wild boys at home and toddler boys are something else haha. So I'm sharing a few of my favorite images of shooting the last few months during the winter as a catch up. It's typically a slow season for photographers anyway but it was especially slow for me this year learning how to manage toddlers, colder weather, and finding a new way to work in the little bit of spare time I have. Now that I'm getting a bit of a groove back, I'm slowly responding to new messages and planning for the spring sessions. I'm so excited from one of my first offerings back to work to be my azalea minis in April! They are always so much fun, a huge hit, and sell out every year. I'm so thankful for that and looking forward to seeing many of you again in 2025!

Little Update!

Hey, friends! I'm busy at work on so many fun, fall photos and I'm so blessed to be! I have decided, however, after 9 years of business to take off a little bit of time this January-February to focus on some other career goals of mine. I'm excited for a break and to enjoy the winter months with my boys. That being said, if I have any long-time return clients, friends, etc. that were planning on a January-february shoot, please message me sooner rather than later to we can figure out the best time to fit you in before or after my little leave. If you're wanting maternity, newborn, a milestone during these months that can't wait I'll definitely consider being available for 1-2 sessions for those months if it's something time critical. I hope everyone has a great holiday season and I can't wait to share more beautiful photos soon!
