MHS Class of 2027 & the girl who helps keep me sane during my busiest times!

If you’ve been to many of my seasonal minis, sports sessions, or weddings, you’ve probably seen Sydney nearby. She’s my second shooter and photography assistant, and now she’s officially my office intern for her senior year of high school!

Sydney is extremely passionate about photography and truly gives her all to everything she’s involved in. She owns her own photography business, Sydsp1cs, and dedicates so much of her time and talent to covering our high school sports.

She spends so much time behind the camera capturing everyone else, so I loved getting the chance to put her in front of mine for her senior session! This is only the beginning 💛

In 2023, I had 6 weekends off.

SIX. Out of an entire year. At the time, I was so used to saying yes, squeezing in one more session, and filling every available space on my calendar that I didn’t really realize how much I was working until I looked back at the year as a whole. And it was a BIG eye opener for me.

I absolutely love this “job.” I LOVE my clients. I love creating. I love that after 10 years, I still genuinely get excited about what I do. And I want to keep it that way.

So one of the biggest boundaries I’ve created for myself is that regular sessions are scheduled Monday through Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are reserved for weddings, seasonal mini session weekends, and most importantly, time with my family.

Do I still work a lot of weekends? Absolutely. 😂 Weddings and busy seasons definitely keep me going! But I’m much more intentional about them now.

Because I DO NOT want to reach a point where something I love so much becomes something I’m burnt out from doing.

My girls are growing up way too fast. There are only so many Saturdays at home, family plans, little trips, lazy Sundays and ordinary weekends with them.

I’m incredibly thankful that Sweet Lemon Photography stays as busy as it does, and I’m even more thankful for clients who understand when I say, “I don’t schedule regular sessions on weekends.”🍋💛

First of all… thank you. I never want to take for granted that so many people choose Sweet Lemon Photography to capture their memories. It truly means the world to me.

I also wanted to reintroduce myself for those of you who are newer here. I’m Victoria! I’m a wife, a mom to three amazing girls, and the person behind every email, message, edit, gallery, and session at Sweet Lemon Photography.

As much as I love photography, my family and personal life will always come first. Between sports, school events, volunteering, and just everyday life, sometimes my inbox gets a little behind. If you’ve sent me a message, I *promise* I haven’t forgotten about you. I’m working through everything as quickly as I can, and I’ll always get back to you.

I’m so thankful to be busy. It’s something I’ll never complain about. I just ask for a little patience during these extra busy seasons while I balance being a photographer with being a wife and mom.

This isn’t a “sorry”, but a “thank you”. Thank you for supporting my little business, for trusting me with your memories, and for giving me the opportunity to do what I love every single day. It truly doesn’t go unnoticed. 💛
