As the sun slipped below the horizon, the desert came alive with color — glowing gold, deep amber, and the last traces of fading light stretching across the sky.

There’s something timeless about the silence of the desert at sunset. The heat softens, the wind settles, and for a few brief moments, the world feels still. A reminder that even the harshest landscapes can hold incredible beauty.

Springtime renewal! One stands apart—small, but strong.
While the others gather in the safety of togetherness, this gosling pauses on its own… already testing the space between comfort and courage.

A quiet moment along Spain’s northern coast, just before sunset. For a brief breath in time, the sun slipped through the clouds, setting the sky ablaze in gold and casting a soft, luminous glow across the water and stone. The sea stacks stood timeless against the light—weathered, unmoving—while everything around them shifted and shimmered. A reminder that even the smallest break in the clouds can transform the entire world.

I found this lone shorebird standing at the water’s edge just as the light turned soft and golden. The scene portrays a quiet stillness—the swell, the glow on the sand, and that single poised figure—so I waited until the moment felt right.

A moment bathed in morning light. This western bluebird caught the first light of day, perched in stillness as the world slowly woke. A quiet reminder that beauty often arrives with the dawn.

Fresh into the world — these twin moose calves, less than a week old, explore the wild side by side. A rare and tender moment in nature's nursery. 🐾💚

Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate this year, and the Thunderbirds were not able to honor the USAFA graduating Class of 2025 with a flyover and air performance.

I was able to photograph them earlier this week when they arrived in Colorado Springs. The storm clouds were massive as the Thunderbirds took their first pass. I don't know if I will ever tire of seeing this fantastic scene.

Congratulations to the USAFA Class of 2025!

Just got back from a trip to Yellowstone National Park. While there, I was able to spend some quality time with the beautiful redhead, and this foxy creature definitely stole my heart....
