Star Crossed Weddings New York based photography studio that specializes in weddings, elopements, engagements and more! 📸 We hope to turn your vision into reality!

It all began in 2016, when we started working together at a wedding photography studio. Our friendship quickly blossomed and a few years later we decided to turn our amazing friendship into our own business! We started out taking photos of friends and family, as well as modeling for each other. We studied posing and lighting techniques, while also styling our own hair, make-up and wardrobe. As our portfolios grew, we began to gain more clients, which eventually led us to book weddings, engagement sessions and more!

“I twist like a sunflower at the sound of your voice.” - Kait Rokowski 💛🌻

Stephon + Kassondra. This session was one for the books. It means a lot when a photographer trusts me to document their love story. It is a trust not only in my eye and creative vision, but also in my ability to understand theirs—the feeling, details, and memories they want to hold onto forever. Stephon told me “I want you to capture Kass the way that I see her.”

And I saw it: she is the light sparkling on the water, the warmth of the setting sun, the yellow in the petals of the sunflowers; her laugh contagious and energy unwavering.

But I also saw the way she sees him. The spark everytime their eyes met, the way they melt into each embrace, the natural flow of their movements as if it is second nature to be one. Like they are two halves, yin and yang, constantly spinning around eachother. đź’«

I love photographing couples because every session is a chance to get to know the people behind the smiles. All of the little stories, inside jokes, and everything that makes their connection uniquely theirs. I love photographing at new locations and Innisfree Garden, (recommended by this amazing couple), did not disappoint with its stunning scenery! A few of these shots are among my all-time favorite photos I’ve ever taken. Documenting every moment between them reflected the love they share so naturally.

On Father’s Day, I’m reminded of the countless moments I’ve witnessed through my lens. I think of fathers in every stage of the journey— from new dads just beginning and seasoned dads letting go, to stepdads who chose love and showed up fully, and to grandfathers whose legacy lives on in every embrace. Fathers who may no longer walk beside us, yet live on forever in our hearts. Fatherhood takes many forms, but in every wedding I capture its presence is unmistakable. Happy Father’s Day. 🤍

Angela and Liane recently celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary, and I found myself revisiting their photos. This wedding holds a special place in my heart. Angie and I grew up side by side. Her siblings were like family to me, just as mine were to her. Our parents had known each other since school and stayed close over the years, so it always felt natural that Angie and her sisters became like my sisters. 🥹🫶🏻

Even though I had been in the wedding photography industry for 3 years, this was my first ever wedding shot under my name. Angie and her wife, Liane, trusted me to capture such a pivotal moment in their lives, and I will always be grateful for that. I was the lead photographer, with my trusted colleague and longtime friend, Mackenzie, by my side as my second shooter. It was equal parts nerve-wracking and exciting. I went in with just one camera— my reliable Canon Rebel T3i with its 18–55mm kit lens, and a budget on-camera flash I picked up on Amazon. That flash overheated more than once, including during key moments like the cake cutting. 🫣 I definitely wouldn’t have called myself a professional at the time, but it’s a reminder that everyone starts somewhere. Gear can make things easier, sure, but it shouldn’t be the reason you hold yourself back. 🤍

I come back to this wedding every so often. Recently, I re-edited a few photos, applying what I’ve learned over the years about color and refinement. There’s something valuable about revisiting your old work and seeing how far you’ve come. And that’s something to be proud of, always.
