Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to run the Monterey Bay half. Thanks to all the organizers and volunteers for an amazing race day from start to finish (and to the photographers for taking some crazy HDR images I never knew I needed).

Next up, Big Sur International Marathon 🏃🏻‍♀️

A month ago and I were able to climb up Half Dome in after finding out we won the daily lottery. We weren’t expecting it at all knowing that we missed the preseason lottery and winning the daily one was only a success rate of around 20% (to put it in perspective, 35,000+ applications are submitted). So we were elated when our plans had such an exciting turn of events.

We ended up hiking Half Dome on the first day of our week in Yosemite. The entire hike was 16 miles, 12 hours and about 5,000 ft in elevation; the best part being the final ascent - a 400 ft vertical climb on slick granite at a 45 degree angle and 60 in the middle.

The views were undoubtedly incredible, our muscles sore and post hike drinks delicious 🍻 more from the day in stories

Hellooo! Back online after a few months and ready to catch up and share all the things we’ve been getting up to out here in California. Between marathon training, camping, hiking, work and traveling (and celebrating my 28th birthday last month) it’s been a busy fun-filled two months. First up a few favorites from during a weekend well spent in the desert.

Tucked in an idyllic neighborhood in Carmel-by-the-Sea (and only a stones throw from the beach), Villa Mara is a beautifully designed luxury boutique hotel that encapsulates the perfect and intimate California coastal getaway. Modern and vintage pieces give the property a timeless elegance while creating an elevated space that is reminiscent of the small,
charming city it resides in.
