A couple months ago, I had the opportunity to photograph a morning with Jemma Gascoine and company at a local pottery studio, Monson Pottery.

It was so fun to play around with details and movements of the studio, clay, and the beauty of the art.

If you’re going through Monson and haven’t stopped by the studio, check it out! My husband and I gifted mugs by Jemma to all of our guests on our wedding day and it was just the best. I’ve heard from everyone how those mugs are one of their favorites!

So much history in this photo — my husband, his dad, and his Uncle (and me behind the camera) all working on the property David and I bought last October.

Life is special in each and every moment. That preciousness is exactly what excites me to photograph families, weddings, and life in general.

Being invited to a morning with the K family last October was a real joy.

They visit Maine every year as a family and thought it would be great to capture the trip this year and all of the sweet details that make up their visit.

Normal everyday outfits, no pressure to perform, just a morning together.

Luke & Olivia got married this past weekend surrounded by their closest friends and family in beautiful Phippsburg right on the water.

The sweetness of these two is palpable! It’s as though they’re both honey in human form. It was an honor to be invited to photograph the day they became husband and wife. So excited to share a few peeks from their celebration!

Tom & Marisa celebrated their wedding this past weekend in Maine surrounded by their closest people, beautiful trees, and great beer + grub.

They created a day that was so true to them and how they enjoy life already and you could feeeeel it.

Since they first met at a brewery, it was especially fun that we were able to stop by for a pre-ceremony beer and end the day at for their reception.

Cheers to these two and all of the joy, laughs, and sweetness they bring to each other 🍻 It was such an honor to document.

Family on Devon & Dave’s intimate wedding day in Portland, Maine last October.

From the first meeting, I ask questions to understand who my couples are inviting to their day so I can have a little foundation of the history and of everyone who’s gathering.

That knowledge helps me stay present and sensitive to seeing those portraits and moments as a day happens that could be meaningful to a couple.

I saw Dave’s Uncle just after the ceremony amidst the hustle and bustle and really loved how he was framed by that hustle and bustle. I kept my eye for an opening to potentially capture a portrait of him and in a split second, it happened.

In these moments when a guest sees me clearly taking their portrait, there’s this agreement and trust there to stay with the camera to be seen — how beautiful is that?

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing my good friend and her sweet soon-to-be-husband at their home — a place they’ll be getting married in a couple of months.

When I arrived, the record player was on, there were photos scattered for wedding things, dinner being prepped, and they’re in the midst of planning a wedding at their home.

This very property they’re building a life on will soon hold all of their people celebrating life and love. A damn party.

So honored to get to photograph friends at this very moment. Can’t wait to party soon ❤️
