In the summer of 2017, Crooked-Eye Photography started taking photos of Monrovia High School varsity football games to not only get photos of my stepson but also to give back to the community. This adventure soon ballooned into a journey that I never imagined. I began taking photos at almost every type of sport that Monrovia offered, many times accompanied by my wife Stacey. Not only did we photograph sports, but we have also been to banquets, show choir performances, state cheerleading and band competitions and a multitude of other events over the years. We have had the opportunity to meet and become friends with many wonderful people, both students and parents, over the last seven years. Most do not realize that amount of time that this took or that we received zero compensation from the school. When you add up two to three hours per event and then two to three hours of photo editing for each, the time multiplies quickly. Often, we were at the school or events 4+ days a week. With all that being said, it is time for us to step away. We simply no longer have the time to donate to this. I want to thank all of the staff that allowed us to participate and capture these moments in time. We will not be giving up photography, but we will be getting back to what brought us the most joy and that is spending time together out in nature, enjoying all of creation, and hopefully photographing this beautiful world. Thank all of you for your support over the years. We love you all.
