Hey friends!
It’s me, Emily—your super hip, young, cool photographer! (Okay, maybe I’m just trying to be, but my nephew definitely doesn’t think it’s cool when I dab or say “skibbidy toilet” 😅). Is 28 too old to be using the latest lingo? Asking for a friend…
In all seriousness, as I wrap up another amazing wedding season, I wanted to take a moment to share a little more about myself!
I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember. I started with my little flip phone, taking photos just for fun and editing them on some very questionable free photo editing websites. (Sorry, Dad—those computer viruses might’ve been my fault 🤪). In high school, I decided to take a photography/videography class as an elective, and I instantly fell in love. I loved it so much, but I also had a deep passion for teaching, so I pursued a degree in Early Childhood Education.
I spent several years teaching preschool while doing photography on the side. I absolutely loved teaching, but let’s be real—teaching can be tough these days for a lot of reasons (huge shoutout to all the incredible teachers out there!). After photographing my first wedding, I knew the wedding industry was where I truly belonged. I took a leap of faith, went all-in, and dedicated myself to building my business. It was a stressful first year, but I’m so grateful that I was able to quit my 9-5 and go full-time as a wedding photographer!
The best part? I get to be creative, help remind people of their beauty, meet amazing clients, and set my own schedule. It’s been such a fulfilling journey and I truly love what I do— that’s all thanks to you!
Outside of work, I’m married to my wonderfully supportive husband, who has been my biggest cheerleader every step of the way. He opened his own doggy daycare last year, so we’ve been learning the ropes of entrepreneurship together!
It’s been such an incredible ride so far, and I’m so excited to keep growing alongside all of you. Thank you for your constant support, encouragement, and for trusting me to capture the special moments in your lives!
