This barn in Ryegate, Vermont finally succumbed to gravity last year. I drove by recently to find no trace that it ever existed. Ted Clark’s memories of growing up here are on page 83 of “Lost Barns”.

I photographed this Ryegate VT barn today. It was a beautiful farm when I first photographed it in 1986. The farmhouse and several other buildings are gone. It will soon be a "Lost Barn"

This big barn in Cabot VT looks like it was converted to house poultry. The barn and the lovely elm tree are both gone, but it's saved in my upcoming book “Lost Barns.”

This beautiful group of barns once stood on a back road in Ryegate VT. It burned not long after I photographed it in 1989. It’s now the cover photo of my upcoming book, “Lost Barns”.

At 200’ x 80’, this gorgeous Francestown NH barn was one of the largest in New England until it burned to the ground in 2016. You can read the story in my upcoming book, “Lost Barns”.

It’s not an exaggeration to say my book, “Lost Barns”, saved my life. Even though my operation removed the cancer from my body, it left me in a deep depression. Having something on which to focus my mind and my energy lifted me out of the gloom and focused on the future.
