Got the amazing honor to capture of something great coming to the Charlotte area! Balfour Beatty US tagged me along on a 2 day site viewing with all their board and executive members from the UK to see all their amazing plans and blueprints that will grace the uptown streets. It was a first shooting a construction company and honestly, it was sooo insightfully fun to see the builders behind all of the beautiful architecture in this city.

For this, I wanted to approach this with a documentary approach to see the REAL behind what makes Balfour who they are. The grit, the knowledge, the passion, the skill and their laid back nature. This isn’t your typical “brand photography” instead— it’s an approach that shows honesty and the why behind what they do!

I love getting to photograph businesses in a way that feels like more than just pretty pictures. It’s the people, the process, the personality, and all the little details that tell the story.

A little peep behind the curtain into my shooting process… and, naturally, some of my very professional commentary 😂

This is Matt from Hospitality Butler, a luxury wedding planner and design extraordinaire. this shoot was such a fun one to create. I’m sharing a little mix of the behind-the-scenes, the actual directing (yes, you get to hear me in my natural habitat 😂), and a few of the final images once all the magic happened behind the scenes.

Because the finished photo is only half the story.

The other half is me talking with my hands, moving people three inches to the left, hyping them up, and apparently providing a full audio commentary while I work. 😂
