A summer spent chasing sunsets and living life less in the margins and more at the forefront 🤍

If you looked at my feed, it looks like I took a summer sabbatical but my phone tells another story.
-
It’s filled with so many behind the scenes clips, sessions previews, blurry location scouting videos, photos from our own life - of the kids growing, Frankie being weird and countless little moments that just brought me joy.

Eventually I will get a chance to share it all but for now, I am going to enjoy every second while we are living it 🤍

A big fan of using engagement sessions as an excuse to explore a new place together and fully embracing all the fun (and bugs) that come with it 🤍

I’ve lost count of how many sessions we’ve rescheduled for rain this summer - but none more than this one. When a storm system popped up late last week, I had to send Kayla the dreaded “have you seen the forecast?” text (again), and I was holding my breath.
-
Summer’s winding down and these two deserved an epic golden hour. And I knew Saturday would give us one - a tiny window between two storm systems, perfect but tight.
-
That meant last-minute rescheduling and coordinating calendars during the busiest stretch of summer for all of us. Kayla and Kaleb didn’t just roll with it - they trusted me to find the window and made it work.
-
And that trust is what made this session what it was.
-
Minus the ever-present mosquitoes, it turned into a perfect night that checked all the boxes we were looking for. This is the part of the process I wish more couples knew going in: the reschedules aren’t a setback, they are what allow us to create the photos you’re dreaming of - even when it means waiting a little longer than initially planned.

Becoming a mom shifted so much about my work. Less about the perfect pose and more about documenting reality in a way that felt not only honest but beautiful.

But bringing home our second brought a shift I wasn’t expecting - because overnight, our little girl didn’t seem so little anymore.
-
It changed my perspective in the most meaningful way. Which is why I always make sure we capture individual photos of your “bigs” too, even when we’re there for your “little” 🤍

When a couple trusts your vision, lets you find the light, lets you pull them somewhere unexpected without question - that’s when the magic happens. These two never hesitated and it shows in every frame of their day!

They wanted woodsy vibes and when I saw the light coming through the trees, I had us pulled over on the side of the road before I could even finish the thought.

To the untrained eye it probably didn’t look like much.
-
We were back on the road within ten minutes. But in those ten minutes, my camera filled up with what ended up being some of my favorite photos of the night 🖤
