The soul searching moments in the Sierra Nevada mountains has taken us again and again to the mountains and here we want to share some of the serene landscapes of the Sierras that turns magical at Sunrise , Sundown and in the dark when the sky is lit by innumerable stars. Our interests in travel has also taken us to different places in the heart of nature in search of spirit cleansing experience.

Seasonal Ice cave - with right amount of snow from winter and the heat from summer can create wonderful ice structures. Photographed here is one such ice cave formation which is seasonal. The bottom layer of the packed ice melts first creating a river flowing underneath. As more water melts , the structure of the packed snow becomes less stable creating interesting ice structures.

While visiting the eastern side of the sierra mountains , one can find a few locations which are ideal for such ice caves to be formed .

Panoramic view of long lake along the bishop pass trail. I took this photo on my iPhone during a hike to dust basin back in 2017. After driving the previous night from my home to reds meadow parking lot, my plan was to sleep in my van only to realize I forgot to bring my blanket. I was going to start the hike early before sun rise which I usually do to see the first rays of the sunlight fall on the eastern sierra range. The excitement to do this hike made me forget about lack of having a blanket for the night. Shot on iPhone …

Evening light sweeping over the high sierras with a view of Cathedral Peak and Eichorn pinnacle with a lake spillover flowing down on the lower left side of the frame. I am not sure if majority of the visitors have noticed this view. Next time when you visit Yosemite National park (Yosemite National Park) see if you can spot this from along the tioga pass scenic drive.

Fun fact - While going over this photo while editing I noticed there was hiker coming down the slopes just below the pinnacles of Cathedral peak. I will try to post a small resolution photo of that too :-)
