Hey y’all let’s talk for a second about what it means to hire someone with a chronic illness. I have over the past 10 years in business delivered some beautiful galleries I know that. I no longer doubt myself when it comes to that. I have however, had some major delays in gallery deliveries when a date promised has been pushed repeatedly because of hospitalizations, surgeries, flares where I can barely move from my bed much less get work done. Although I know that can be hard to understand if you yourself are healthy, it’s really important to stop for a second and put yourself in someone’s shoes. To have Empathy. I promise I am not holding your photos hostage or don’t have them at all and I’m just lying to you and making up excuses. No I promise you they are in my editing software partially or almost completely done because post production is the longest process in photography, and I am DYING to deliver them to you. I want you to have your images. I never want to delay a gallery but sometimes because of my body shutting down, I HAVE TO. There is no other choice for me. The same goes for reschedules, etc. So before you hire me I really suggest that you read my Chronic illness disclaimer, ask questions and make sure that I am the right choice for you. I have so many times wanted to quit and shut down my business because of some of the things people have said to me. But I’m going to try and keep pushing and keep taking photos. I really love what I do. This is not just a career or hobby for me it is one of my passions. With all that being said I will be taking a break from booking so I can continue to get caught up after recent back to back hospitalizations.
Thanks to those of you who have been more than patient with me, kind and understanding.
From this point forward it looks like I will have to take even further steps to protect myself in case of unexpected delays.
Thanks,
Libby Grace
