Sometimes Social Media brings the right people together… 🤩🌙 ✨

A couple of weeks ago, a woman moved here with her family from Utah to take over and eventually purchase a historic property right here in Upstate New York. Somehow our paths crossed, and I’m honestly so glad they did.

Today I’m sharing one of the coolest pieces of history we’ve uncovered so far: an incredible robot created by local inventor Ron Henzel, who was also an electrical teach at Herkimer County BOCES. Most people have never heard of the robot , and I had no idea something this fascinating existed right here in our own backyard. The more I learn about it, the more amazed I am that such an important piece of technology history happened in a place most people drive right past.

But here’s the thing… the robot is only one small piece of what makes this property so special.

The grounds feel like something straight out of a storybook. Hidden paths, towering trees, secret garden vibes, and a waterfall tucked away with a cute quaint cottage overlooking it. Every time we walk the property, we find something new.

Then there’s the history.

This property has connections to the Underground Railroad, hidden trap doors, tunnels, and spaces that seem to have stories waiting to be told. We’ve already discovered things that even surprised the people who know the property best, and I have a feeling we’re only scratching the surface.

As a photographer, finding a place this magical is exciting enough. Finding a new friend who shares the same excitement for preserving and sharing its history makes it even better.

I can’t wait to keep documenting everything we uncover. Along with launching our Micro wedding/Elopement packages, along with some
Other fun stuff in between 😍😍

Trust me… you’re going to want to follow along for this journey. 🤖✨🌿

He came for a visit , and ended up asking her a BIG question ❤️✨🥰Congrats to you Both on your Engagement!

Some places simply feel magical the moment you arrive…. Today was one of these moments. The Inn by the Mill in St. Johnsville is one of those places. Surrounded by waterfalls, gardens, historic stone buildings, and nearly 200 years of history, it’s the perfect setting for intimate weddings, elopements, and wedding weekend experiences.

I’m thrilled to be partnering with this incredible property to photograph couples who want something meaningful, relaxed, and unforgettable.

Imagine exchanging vows beside a waterfall, spending the weekend with your favorite people, and waking up the next morning to brunch and breathtaking views.

What makes The Inn by the Mill even more extraordinary is the history hidden throughout the property. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this former 1835 stone grist mill is more than just a beautiful wedding destination. Beneath the grounds are secret rooms, trap doors, and tunnels that have fascinated visitors for generations. Local history tells of hidden passageways and chambers believed to have been connected to the Underground Railroad, adding an incredible layer of mystery and significance to this already enchanting place.

As you wander the grounds, you’ll discover cascading waterfalls, a private gorge, historic stone buildings, woodland paths, gardens, and hidden corners that feel like they’ve been pulled from the pages of a fairy tale. The sound of rushing water follows you throughout the property, creating a peaceful backdrop unlike anywhere else in Central New York.

Because sometimes the most beautiful love stories deserve more than a venue.

They deserve a destination filled with history, wonder, romance, and a little bit of magic✨🌙

Stay tuned for our upcoming micro wedding packages! 📸✨😍

Standing above it all is Beardslee Castle, a stone mansion built in 1860 by businessman Augustus Beardslee. Through more than 165 years of Mohawk Valley weather…changing seasons….and local history, it’s still standing strong. This evening sky feels like a reminder that even the roughest weather eventually gives way to something beautiful. 🌤️
