Inside the Darkroom - the beginings
The basic idea is to create a public photographic community center, with a commitment to traditional photographic arts. Central Darkroom offers B&W film and print darkroom spaces available for rent.
Our mission is to foster artistic and professional development giving our local community access and education in photography and traditional film processes. To provide a brick and mortar space where professional and aspiring photographers have affordable access to a pro lab environment. The diverse educational programs will include year-round workshops in historic, alternative and contemporary processes; and a robust education program for youth outreach.
We serve the full spectrum of photographers, whether it’s a beginner just discovering the magic inherent in photography, to the seasoned pro seeking to produce work or share their talents with a future generations of artists.
Central Darkroom accepts community members, whose membership fees allow the darkroom to maintain its mission and operating overhead. These members have access to the facility to develop film, make prints, attend or teach workshops and more.
