Monkeying Around

On one of the first days of my safari I watched baboons playing amongst the trees. I could watch any primate for days, they have very human characteristics and their athleticism is quite a sight to behold.

King of the Jungle

Deep in the Kenyan bush lions roam. This beauty came right to the edge of the forest during a dark storm standing still just long enough for me to capture this image.

With this edit I really tried to embrace what the environment gave me instead of trying to force the edit in a certain direction. I’m very proud of how it turned out!

Leopard V1

I am officially halfway through my Kenyan safari and words can’t begin to describe how incredible it has been. At just the first location I saw all of the big cats!

When photographing wildlife as elusive as a leopard things often move fast. That was particularly true during this encounter. This female leopard walked along the bumper of our car and I managed to use my 400mm through the roof to capture this image!

I’d like to give a special thanks to Kate Newman Sadala Bobio Lekasi and Koleesh Gabriel's Kuluo for making this one of the most special adventures of my life. Additionally I’d like to thank the friends I’ve made along the way Tai Roelandts Brooke Pyke Katie Ryan Livesay and Cat║Experience-driven Solo Travel .

Postcards from Greenland

A journey to the faraway lands of Eastern Greenland I won’t soon forget. These frames are just a small glimpse of the magic the Arctic has on offer. Thank you Tilvera expeditions and Storm Expeditions for making this dream a reality.

Polar Bear Island

A lot of wildlife photography focuses on tight shots that put the animal front and center. On my last trip to Greenland I pushed myself to get a little more creative.

This series of images begins by showing you the polar bear in its natural environment in all of its glory. I’ve now seen polar bears in 3 locations around the world and each is incredibly unique. The geology in Greenland was striking, making you feel like you were looking at the true origins of our planet. Here polar bears thrive living amongst the sea cliffs in the summer months.

Going for a more dynamic image, this was capture from far below as the polar bear peaked around a rock.

Capturing animal tongues is quite frankly hilarious. Even better when it looks like the bear is teasing you!

This fascinating creature is a comb jelly! The lights you see along the membrane are created by beating cilia that scatter and diffract ambient light. Additionally, this smelly is bioluminescent so it can glow in the dark. It felt like capturing an 👽, very cool!
