Life has a beautiful way of surprising us, especially when we least expect it. This past year has been a journey of healing and rebuilding, not just our home after Hurricane Beryl (peep the lake in this pic that is not there today!), but also our spirits, connections, and a few bones too. Amidst the challenges, one of the greatest gifts I’ve received is the friendship of an incredible woman who has shown me the true meaning of support and resilience. 🌈

Today, as we celebrate this sweet baby’s first birthday, I’m reminded of how quickly time flies. Just a year ago, this little one was about to begin his journey in the world, and now he is exploring, laughing, and spreading joy. The past 365 days have been filled with change—some moments have brought tears, while others have ignited laughter and joy. It’s a bittersweet reminder that time waits for no one, and every precious moment spent with our little ones is a treasure. 💖

True friends are the threads that weave our stories together, supporting us during the ups and downs. Join me in celebrating not just this milestone, but also the connections that come into our lives when we need them most. Let’s make every moment count! 📸✨

Life has a beautiful way of surprising us, especially when we least expect it. This was one of those “it won’t happen to me,” moments. My husband, me, and 3 of the kids were in an accident at a ranch Saturday morning while riding an ATV vehicle. We went off a low water crossing and flipped several times into a rock ravine. I was stuck in my seatbelt and Jimmy got me out though his hand and arm were badly wounded. 2 of our kids were miraculously okay with just a few scrapes. But our youngest took the worst of it. He fractured his femur in half, broke his pelvis, was bleeding from his head and had a concussion. He was life flighted to San Antonio and had emergency surgery to place 2 rods in his femur and stitch his head back together. My husband had surgery to repair his finger/hand in Fredericksburg. Our littlest will be okay but he will be in a spica cast for 6 weeks!! (A cast from tummy to toes!) Anyone who has met him knows this is torture. BUT he is still here, and for that I am so grateful, so we will manage a cast. ❤️‍🩹

It was the scariest day of my life but I see God’s hand of protection all over this day. When the ranch hand went back later to pull the vehicle out, he cried and said it is a miracle no one was killed. I could tell you dozens of big and little miracles that I know led to our safety! His angel army protected us from a worse outcome for sure.

I am not sure what this means for work, other than that I know my family needs me now! If you had a shoot scheduled for this week, you should have or will receive a message from my assistant to reschedule in a few weeks.

After 2 long days we are headed home to Houston! I know that if the outcome had been different, God would still be good. I was so scared on our way to the hospital, crying and yelling to keep my son awake and crying out to God to save his life. God hears our prayers. He loves His children. God is good ALL THE TIME.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT!!!! I am in LOVE with this beautiful family and location.😍😍😍 For years I shot in the same few locations, which was great for consistency, but not great for my mind. Hello there!!! This newborn session y’all…😍😍😍 Every moment was just dreamy. I am filled with so much gratitude that y’all trust me to preserve these special moments that are gone too soon. A friend of mine said it best recently- “I don’t think it’s possible to convince ourselves we savored it enough while we could...time is a thief and the greatest gift.” I have felt this so much lately!
