My grandma passed away one year ago. It’s honestly taken me this long just to sit with it and accept it. I kept wanting to make a post when it happened (she waited/held on until her son’s birthday to pass and he was fighting cancer then.) If you would have told me one year ago that the next year would carry her death, my uncles death as well as both our dogs I wouldn’t have believed you. It’s been a lot. She taught me how to always find a way, how to always make it work, how to find the joy when the world felt hard. She traveled from Scotland by ship as a teenager and made a whole life for herself. When my mom disappeared she sacrificed so much to take care of us and made us her life. Always taking us to Glacier, the lake, Scotland multiple times to see family, endless camping etc. She always spoke of this quote in reference to her own mom and I’ve always loved it. 💕
“In the golden rays of sunshine,
when your thoughts from care are free,
when of others you are thinking,
will you sometimes think of me?”
