Clients often ask, how long do engagement pictures take? Because unless you’ve been part of a wedding party in the past, you may not have ever had professional portraits taken before! My typical engagement sessions take 45min if we’re staying in one location, but much of that is getting you warmed up and comfortable on camera. The *really* good stuff happens by the fleeting minute. This Alaska meadow session took less than 10 minutes! But the chemistry to get these photos took the couple years to build ;) .

Would you believe the entire view was GONE in less than 5 mins after these brief portraits? A big wet cloud rolled in and hid the stunning Mountain View. But ya gotta be quicker than that to ruin my day ;) The Dolomites are stunning. As is this incredible army family!

What a privilege to have a hobby I am so completely enchanted with. Shot my first few rolls of medium format this weekend, and I am never putting this little senior citizen camera down. 68 yrs old and still works pretty splendidly! Amazing what you can buy on the internet! Many thank yous to .lucidda.lab for your patience and expertise, this is going to be a fun journey!

Getting married in GNP doesn’t always mean eloping! For B+D, they had a beautiful, intimate wedding at Avalanche Amphitheater followed by portraits up to Logan Pass. While we were capturing these lovely images, their family was at a local state park setting up a potluck style reception for them. There are so many different ways to say “I do” in the park! Thinking a lot lately about this wedding from last summer, which was particularly special for me…not just because of their amazing love for each other, or for the lovely details their families helped bring together, or for the best friend officiating the ceremony, or even for our visit to for lakeside portraits.
It will always be one of my favorite days because on my way home, I stopped in Ronan for wings and met my partner for the first time. Getting to know him has been such a wonderful ride and I’m so exited for what’s to come with us. This army deployment to Romania is so challenging for me professionally and personally. I miss him so much and we still have 8 months to go!
