Hi, I’m Kayla. I’m a wedding photographer, a wife, and a new mom to my little riot girl. Photography has always been a big part of who I am, and I love getting to capture real love stories and moments people will look back on for the rest of their lives.

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually at home with my family, cooking something in the kitchen, or hanging out with our very spoiled corgis. I love traveling whenever I can, good food, and listening to punk music.

I feel like weddings get so overcomplicated sometimes.

This felt like the opposite of that. Just them, taking it all in, not rushing, not worrying about anything else going on around them.

No big setup, no pressure… just a quiet moment in the middle of a courthouse.

And somehow it still felt really big.

This was styled, but honestly… this isn’t far off from what your day could actually look like.

The Arts District is one of my new favorite spots for couples sessions because it’s packed with personality. Every corner has something different — bright murals, industrial walls, string lights, and those cozy little hidden gems that make your photos stand out.

E + N showed up ready to have fun — laughing, teasing, and totally being themselves. They even had an impromptu game of rock-paper-scissors in the middle of the street (which got intense in the best way).

As we wandered, E shared their story — meeting at Virginia Tech, a mountain proposal after a four-mile hike, and how they’ve grown through every season together. She said she knew from the moment they met that he was the one, and watching them interact, it was so obvious.
