I joined some 800,000 Kansas City Chiefs fans at the Super Bowl parade this week. The event was covered by countless professional phototgraphers and film crews, both local and national. As the parade progressed down Grand Ave., the number of cell phone photos taken boggles the mind. I was standing 5 feet behind the barricade and spent the morning wishing I had arrived earlier. My goal was to simply capture some decent shots of the players and coaches. Last year most of the players stayed on the busses, allowing me to get unobstructed shots. But this year, soaking up the 63-degree sunshine, most players walked, which made it a challenge to get a decent shot through the forest of cellphone photographers. I never expected to come away with anything remarkable and definitely nothing unique, but if you are prepared, patient, and looking for the perfect shot, sometimes you get lucky. Patrick Mahomes' reflection in the Lombardi Trophy immortalizes the emotional ride that was this football season.

I had never heard of Peace Tea but the can caught my eye as I walked down the tea and coffee aisle in the local HyVee. I guess they don't advertise on purpose to keep their product costs down. Coke-a-Cola owns the brand so they could afford the advertising if they so choose. So I shot these two images this week.

Spring is here and baseball is back, that reminds me to post this fun beer shot. I barrowed this glass from a local bar and used one of my shirts as a background.
