QQ. The wonderful resilient boy you are.

Quote went Fastest Hound while at the Shenandoah Silken Showcase. I was a bit in disbelief at first. Then the flood of emotions hit me.

I had flashbacks to my tiny hobble goblin in his rainbow casts. 6 broken bones total. All the missed free running during important growth periods. All my breakdowns worried he’d never get to really be a runner. How badly our relationship was because of the rehab I forced him to do. I tried to stay strong but it was hell.

I wish I could hug past Stef. And tell her how much all that hard work paid off. How amazing QQ is now as a mature man. All the things we accomplish together.

I will sometimes grieve the past, and what we lost. But I’ll forever celebrate our achievements. They are all the more extra special because of the journey it took to get here.

My Meadow-Dodo Bird. 🥹🥹

I randomly met at a whippet race practice I was very casually fumbling around taking photos with my new camera a few years ago. Instantly became obsessed with her work. There are a handful of people I day dream about hiring for a session of my dogs. A lot of them out of my reach location wise hahaha It was very exciting to find someone local whose work spoke to me. I instantly knew the moment I could, I wanted Leah to photograph my dogs.

I’ll forever cherish the gallery from this day. This photo needs to be on our wall ASAP 😂 It’s probably one of my top favorite photos ever.

I’ve been having fun doing photography for fun again vs for work/expectations/obligations. It’s been out of my comfort zone with more portrait style but it’s still been a blast documenting Chapter’s puppyhood.

I do miss my lifestyle photography too. We haven’t been able to travel as much for adventures the last year. It’s been more for dog sports & things. Hope later this year we can get back into the swing of things. Maybe 😂

I had a memory the other day pop up. 7 years ago.

A lost girl drove down to Indy to pick up a crazy expensive camera that she had no idea how to use. All she did know? Was that she loved to take photos, she had a beautiful cat she was obsessed with, and a desperation to have something that was hers.

Crazy how everything changed with that one camera. Not only found something that I was good at, it gave me so much more.

So here’s an OG photo of Gigs back when he was able to go on adventures.

Today, QQ had blood drawn to be submitted for a Silken Windhound bone study currently being conducted. Since we were already sending in a sample, we also opted to participate in the breed’s ongoing Silken deafness study as a normal hearing submission.

I’m really honored to submit Quote to this study to help further look into bone fractures within our breed. While I don’t necessarily suspect he has brittle bones, I am genuinely concerned about the number of fractures we’ve been seeing in Silkens. I’m very grateful to our breed club and health committee for supporting and conducting these important studies.

Huge shout out to for helping us submit QQ to the research by taking on this sort of ✨extra✨request, drawing his blood, and shipping it for us! Thank you 🩷🩷
