During my 'retirement', I've been learning and practicing digital pet "paintings". These are made stroke-by-stroke with a digital tablet and stylus, from a reference photo. I'm beginning to offer these; new website to come. But for now, I'll be doing a special offer for the first 3 people to order – an 11x14 portrait for $99. (Single animal only for this special offer and no humans. Cell phone photos are fine but need to be sharp and well lit. See before and after examples below). Send a message if you're interested 🙂.

I will be doing pet and/or family photos at Responsible Pet Care's Fall Festival Fundraiser on October 16th. If you want some quick but awesome photos at a crazy low price, now is your chance. $10 for one digital image (I'll take a few and I'll pick the best) or $25 for at least 5 digital images. All the money goes to Responsible Pet Care. It's been tough for shelters since the pandemic started. RPC has been unable to do most of their normal fundraisers, and the numbers of animals coming in to the shelter has been very high - especially cats.

Besides me doing photos, this outdoor event will have a ticket auction, food, bake sale, crafters & vendors, and more!

Help a great cause and get some great photos. It all happens outside the shelter on Saturday, October 16th from 10-3. Rain date October 17th.

This year, I entered 4 images in the International Print Competition, which is held annually by Professional Photographers of America. A total of 5249 images were entered by photographers from the US and beyond. Each image is individually judged and scored by a panel of esteemed photographer jurors. The top scoring 10 images in each of 12 categories (for example Animals, Children, High School Senior, Weddings, Landscape, Commercial, etc.) become finalists for the Grand Imaging Award which is announced in January. I am super excited to say that this year one of my images in the Animal category is a finalist for the Grand Imaging Award!

The image, which I titled “The Water Dog Brigade” is all one litter of Portuguese Water Dogs and I made this image last year. Many thanks to Christine Dostie for loading 14 puppies into her vehicle and driving an hour to me, and recruiting friends to help with puppy wrangling during the session. It was organized chaos!

My other 3 entries also scored high enough to earn merits, which is no easy task, and makes me one of 170 Bronze Medalists across the country. 🥳

If you're in the Oxford area tomorrow, you won't want to miss Fun Dog Day at the Oxford Fairgrounds, which is a fundraiser for Responsible Pet Care. Lots of dog-friendly activities, as well as vendors, food, kids' activities, and be sure to stop by my booth in the exhibition hall between 10-2. I'll be doing free dog portraits for social media use, just asking for any $ donation to Responsible Pet Care.
