Meet Larry, Moe, and Curly — the friendliest sheep we met just outside Mikladalur on Kalsoy. Similar to my experience in Iceland and my Icelandic Horses photo, they rushed right over the moment we got out of the car. I couldn’t help but laugh at their expressions, especially the one on the right.

Architecture DNA — I’ve been wanting to photograph this double helix staircase inside International Market Square for years. One of the first of its kind in the U.S., it was built with two stairways spiraling together so workers could go up and down without colliding.

What makes it even more special is that it’s not far from home—and right near where I used to work. It’s rarely open to the public, but thanks to the IMS sample sale, I finally got my shot.

A flea market surprise—rows of vintage tins stacked in perfect, colorful chaos. Definitely not something you can plan, just a right place, right time moment to have the camera ready.

Driving into the little village of Kunoy, we caught this rainbow stretching across the water. Clouds behind, sunlight ahead—it was the perfect “right place, right time” moment.

After days of moody weather, the sun finally broke through—and we went straight to Mulafossur. This was the photo I had pictured while traveling, and today it all came together: blue skies, sunlit cliffs, and that perfect waterfall view.

An incredible day on Mykines—by far the best puffin experience I’ve ever had. From portraits to puffins carrying fish, they were everywhere, and it felt like every shot had its own personality. Definitely one for the memory books.

On our way down from puffin-watching, we found this old wooden gate—helpfully labeled “Gate.” The best part? The sun peeked through the clouds at just the right moment, lighting up a few houses in the valley, perfectly framed by the gate. Travel knows how to stage a scene.

Spent 45 minutes today watching puffins take off and land—and it was hilarious. They’re graceful divers, but in the air? Let’s just say their landings are more “controlled crash” than smooth touchdown. Adorable chaos at its finest.
