As the evening sun dipped low, we embraced the textures, the open hearted expression of joy and self. She wrapped her arms around the form of her own body which has held her through so much. She has often been unsure if the future was “right” but now, as she journeys forward with strong guidance by her intuition, her spiritual mentors, and close relationships she is becoming the healer she was born to be . Through deep trust in herself - she knows she is the proof she’s been seeking to know she is on the right path.

“You yourself are proof of magic” she writes to herself. Words that will ring true whenever she looks at her images.

Identity doesn’t have to be loud and on display. It can be a quiet knowing of oneself, an unfolding that occurs with time, with patience and introspection. When we take your identity portrait we don’t rush, we don’t put pressure on performance. We let the presence come within the stillness.

Photography is all about noticing. Of course noticing light, composition, and framing but also noticing one’s own feelings - how I’m stepping into work - what energy am I carrying, how am I holding everything in my world to make the art I want to make. Whether photographing people or not, noticing how I’m showing up in my craft always impacts the quality of work that I produce. Being a photographer brings me closer to myself and my inner truth. Teaching me lessons and helping me grow every day.
