Our Advice for First Looks!

We all know the first look is a HUGE part of the wedding day. Usually it is filled with tears and laughter followed by more tears. However, we have seen some instances where the vibe just seems “off”.

Why? Usually it’s because everyone wants to come watch the first look. Parents, grandparents, bridal party, the random dude on the street walking by…. Etc.

While this is fine and dandy to have your loved ones watching you, encourage them to do it from a distance. This way you and your boo can have this special moment all to you. We as photographers do our best to get the shots and dip out of the way to give you guys your privacy.

At the end of the day it is YOUR day so do what you want not what everyone says THEY want.

We had an absolute blast with these two!! Not only are they very much in love but they also graduated from UWL (college I went to). It’s great making random connections with people and being able to relive the glorious days of being in La Crosse.

I had the pleasure of meeting Lindsey my first year at UWL, through the years I had seen Nick around campus but never actually met him. It wasn’t until Lauren and I captured their engagement shoot when I was able to meet Nick.

Throughout the speeches of their wedding there was a main theme when people would talk about Nick. It was how he made you feel like had known you for years even if he just met you. That statement is so true. Another theme through the speeches was how selfless both Nick and Lindsey are. Again, so true. They made Lauren and I feel as if we were guests and not “hired help”. It was such an honor capturing their love story!

Both Taylor and Matt are troopers. Their wedding day called for storms all day. Not once did I hear them get upset or frustrated even if they were thinking it.

And ya know what? The only time it stormed was when everyone was inside. The rest of the time the weather was perfect, the bridal party was a hoot and you could see how much they loved each other. It was truly an incredible day!
