These were the last photos I took before I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 1.17.2022. Unknowingly blissful as I spent my last weekend on the North Shores of Lake Superior with my honey before I got the call. A lot has changed since then!

Crazy to think I have cancer in these photos and had no idea (well sort of - I kinda had a gut feeling.)

That’s been my entire life lately incase you’re wondering where I’ve been! Busy kicking cancers ass! I am getting back into working from home and editing lots of wedding images lately. I have plenty to keep myself busy with 5 weddings + 2 family sessions on my editing list currently! I’m so grateful!

I am slowly starting to book my repeat clients again for Spring photos, baby announcements, 2023 weddings - you name it. Please don’t hesitate to reach out via email and we will get you in my books at a time where I know I’ll be feeling up to it! I’m not currently shooting 2022 weddings as a 12 hour day is just too taxing on my body on chemo. I appreciate those who continue to support me both personally and professionally during this time of unknowns, transition, growing through lots of physical pain, and some days when I just wake up and feel like I just cannot spend the day working mentally. Response times and timelines are slightly longer as one of those unforeseen acts of God type of situations - I appreciate my clients for being so understanding. It truly relieves so much for me mentally when I have clients that are so accommodating and validate that my health is the top priority.

This has not been easy for me as a Type A control freak with my business. That being said, God is showing me that it’s ok to hand things over sometimes. To ask for help. To have a team. To learn how to outsource. This is forcing my business to grow in ways I was hesitant about for so long. For that, I am thankful for the lessons I am learning and growing from along the way!

So far treatment is going well and I am staying strong. I feel good on my off weeks and I try to power through every day no matter what I wake up feeling like.

Better post all of my Fall content before it’s too late! Check out these magical shots from our recent 8 day family/work trip to Utah! We flew into Salt Lake City and hit up everything from SLC, to Park City, to the Bonneville Salt Flats, to Big Cottonwood Canyon and Little Cottonwood Canyon, to Silver Lake, to Cascade Springs, to Sundance Utah where we stayed at a bucket list spot - The Sundance Mountain Resort. Then we spent a few nights at The Grand America Hotel - a super sweet 5 ⭐️ hotel with a massive toy store inside and the best food/entertainment/pool/views around. We explored some gorgeous trails, and enjoyed many toasty car rides in the mountains while chasing the peak Fall colors. I also attended a photography content workshop and got to capture a few other couples sessions while we were away, which majorly filled up my creative cup. I have yet to share ANY behind the scenes videos or images from this entire trip, so please enjoy some never before seen content and stay tuned for lots more! ***SAVE THIS POST to remember these must see spots in Utah!***

Side Note: The natural hot springs pictured above are already on the verge of over-crowding and becoming a garbage dump, so please do not ask for a geo-tag. Lots of time and research goes into location scouting and unfortunately, I rarely share spots that aren’t super well known. This is not to be selfish but to do my part in helping preserve these natural treasures. If you do know of this spot, remember to leave no trace and pack out what you packed in. Maybe even grab a few extra pieces of garb. 😉👍 🌎

Back from the dead… HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

First post in over 2 months, wow it really has been a minute! I have been working so hard behind the scenes on what has seemed like a sky high editing list since June, and tons of back end business tasks! I truly do LOVE every minute of shooting, editing, and the quiet days home alone while working in my sweats to oil this machine of an ever growing business. Entrepreneurship is a lot like motherhood. You kind of just have to learn what works for you as you go and give yourself a LOT of grace in the midst of many “what the F am I doing” moments. I cannot thank you all enough for your support and patience during what has been the most insane wedding season for every single wedding vendor in the industry. Most of us are cranking out 2x the workload that we plan for in an average calendar year. Due to the event mandates last year, many weddings were bumped into an already booked out 2021 year for us. Considering we book weddings over a year in advance, it’s not our fault for “biting off more than we can chew.” This year is straight up showing the entire wedding industry what we are made of. 💪 I feel SO incredibly lucky to have the most kind and understanding clients who let me do my thang without any added pressure. I just want to say THANK YOU ALL. This year I grew so much as a business owner and I couldn’t have done it without my loyal clients and followers. I would be nothing without your hype and referrals, so thank you again from the bottom of my heart for making my dreams a reality! I have so much more up my sleeve and I hope y’all hang around for my new biz ideas to unfold! Make this week count, sending love! Xx
