I know I kind of disappeared and left you all hanging. I am happy to announce that I did have my baby! We welcomed her home the end of February and I’ve been taking this time to be with my family and soak in the new role as a mom. Thank you all for your support and excitement as we begin this new chapter in our lives! I’m also looking forward to some new and exciting things coming for the rest of the year!

These beautiful photos were taken by the ever amazing and talented 🧡

Winter weather can make it tricky to give your dog enough exercise, but there are still plenty of ways to keep them moving and happy! 🐾❄️ Staying active is essential for their physical and mental health, even when it’s too cold to spend much time outdoors.

Try a fun game of indoor fetch or tug-of-war to get their energy out. For something more challenging, set up a mini agility course using household items like chairs, cushions, or broomsticks to create jumps and tunnels. If you’re looking to get out of the house, consider visiting an indoor dog park or signing up for a dog-friendly class, like agility training or scent work.

With a little creativity, you can keep your pup active and entertained all winter long. What are your favorite ways to exercise your dog during the colder months? Share your ideas in the comments—I’d love to hear them!

Space heaters and fireplaces are wonderful for staying warm during the colder months, but it’s important to keep your pets safe around them.

Never leave your dog unsupervised near heating devices, as curious noses and wagging tails can lead to accidents. Consider using safety barriers or baby gates to create a secure zone around heaters or fireplaces, keeping your furry friend at a safe distance.

Warm and cozy is always the goal, but safety comes first! Taking a few extra precautions will ensure your pet stays snug and secure all winter long.

How do you keep your pets safe and cozy at home? Share your tips in the comments—I’d love to hear them!

It’s time for more animals in nature! This is a two for one! I was just trying to get a nice photo of this duck on one of our Cali trips and a coi fish swam under the duck at the perfect moment. I love getting these fun unexpected photos! I didn’t even know the coi was there till I was reviewing this image in post production. Gotta love an occasional photo bomb!

It’s been a minute since I introduced myself. Hi to all my new friends! My name is Kaitlyn, but you can call me Kat if you prefer nicknames. (My pup’s name is Quill - you’ll see him around a bit in my socials!)

I started my photography business in 2017 as a wedding photographer and have done a few other types of photography since. I’m so excited to have discovered the world of pet photography! That is my passion and where I feel like I can have the most fun and freedom with my clients! (Both the two and four legged ones 😉)

I’m also excited to announce that I am also relaunching my Senior Sessions in 2025! I have experience with senior photography but stepped away from that for a bit to focus on learning and fine tuning my pet photography skills. I am now booking seniors for class of 2025 (if you’re still in need of photos) and class of 2026! Feel free to reach out and I’d be happy to answer any questions or help with booking! More information to come as well for this!

With the freezing temperatures we’re experiencing here in Minnesota—and in so many other chilly states this time of year—it’s important to keep our furry friends cozy indoors as well as outside!

Create a warm and comfy spot for your pup to relax in, away from cold drafts or chilly windows. A favorite bed or mat in a draft-free corner is a great start, and adding a blanket or two can make it extra snuggly for those long winter naps.

If you use space heaters to stay warm, make sure they’re pet-safe and positioned where your pup can’t accidentally tip them over or get too close. Safety is just as important as comfort!

Since it’s really cold outside here in Minnesota, I thought this was a good tip to share today. A warm indoor space can make all the difference in keeping your pup happy, healthy, and relaxed during these frigid winter days!

What’s your dog’s favorite spot to snuggle up in the winter? Share in the comments below—I’d love to hear about their cozy setups!
