With a keen eye for detail and a passion for capturing the essence of each moment, I deliver stunning, high-quality images that tell a story! I'm Chanda Ounkong, the owner and freelance photographer behind Chanda Ounkong Photography. I began my photography career in 2014, and since then, I've been passionate about capturing beautiful moments. Born and raised in Austin, MN, I graduated from Austin

High School in 2015 and continued my education at Rochester Community and Technical College, earning a Liberal Arts and Science degree with a photography certificate. In 2020, I moved to Rochester, MN, and recently relocated to Eagan, MN, in 2024. Alongside my photography business, I hold a full-time job, balancing my professional commitments while pursuing a Professional Communication degree at St. Cloud State University, with graduation set for December 2024. Happy 21st birthday, Caroline!

I had such a fun time doing this session with her! We started around golden hour with the Minneapolis skyline behind us and, of course, had to end the night with cake and a little champagne chaos.

I love how these turned out and how different the two looks feel from each other. We got some really pretty shots earlier in the evening and then switched things up once the sun went down.

Definitely one of those sessions where we were laughing and having fun the whole time.

To my clients who may or may not know what’s currently happening in Minnesota, ICE has a heavy presence around the Twin Cities over the past few months. As someone who calls this place home, it’s been really hard to witness the fear, pain, and uncertainty this has caused for many in our community, myself included.

Toward the end of 2025, I made a promise to myself to push my creativity and photograph something meaningful each month in 2026. What better way to begin that creative journey than by documenting strong Minnesotans—embracing the cold, taking to the streets of Minneapolis, and using their voices around something that matters deeply to them.

As a photographer, I believe it’s important to document moments like this. These moments deserve to be documented — not as spectacle, but as part of the history unfolding in our communities.
