It's not often that you can get an unobstructed view of the Cloud Gate in Chicago. I certainly wasn't going to complain about it and gladly took the photo.

Nicollet Mall after dark has a rhythm all its own.

This is Downtown Minneapolis, looking down Nicollet Mall as traffic streaks by on Washington Avenue below. The 5th St Towers and the Capella rise up on the left, while the IDS Center peeks out, partially hidden in the background, with a glimpse of the Central Library’s canopy and the Four Seasons Hotel on the right.

This one’s brand new, and it still needs a name. What would you call it? Let me know in the comments.

This is the Milky Way, as seen on a Summer night at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. It was my first night ever photographing the Milky Way, and I thought I had finished up and was heading back to my car.

And then this view happened and stopped me in my tracks. A gap in the trees opened up a view of Lake Superior, and the arch of our galaxy lined up perfectly with it.

This was absolutely a good reason to bust out the camera gear again.
