SO MUCH HAPPINESS!😍

That smell is not decoration. It is a distress signal that happens to work against mosquitoes. Sage leaves are covered in tiny hair-like structures that act like locked vaults. Each one holds fragrant oil compounds under pressure, sealed away from the air. The moment a leaf surface breaks — crushed between fingers, brushed against a stem, torn by wind — those vaults rupture all at once. The oil floods the air in seconds. One study tracked sage leaf oil against mosquitoes and found full protection lasting well past two hours. Not reduced bites. Not fewer landings. Complete repulsion. The plant did not develop this for human benefit. The oils are a defense against insects, fungi, and other plants trying to grow too close. Sage has been running chemical warfare in slow motion, one broken cell at a time. The strongest armor is the kind that hides until it is needed. [E0UU2]
