Today is Earth Day. 🌎
I look back and reflect on the countless days I’ve had the privilege of spending in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Some kids would go on vacation to Cabo or Miami, but our family would vacation to the BWCA. I vividly remember crawling around the bed of the pick up while my dad and uncle drove us from the farm to the great outdoors. I could not wait to explore the forest, swim in the cleanest and clearest lakes you can imagine, climb the tallest trees I could, and sit under the stars drinking hot coco.
The last couple of years my siblings my siblings and I have rejoined my dad and uncle in exploring the BWCA and it’s reignited my love and passion! Slowly accruing my own camping gear - one piece at a time. Researching, testing, trying, buying and retuning — all in the name of having the perfect camping gear.
I’m thankful for organizations like — and countless others that are doing everything they can to fight the mining proposed that our governing body just passed. The Boundary Waters is a mystical place and deserves to be protected. We must fight against anything that jeopardizes the integrity and beauty of the BWCA.
