After one of the sweetest proposals, we headed down to Black Sand Beach to celebrate.

The dramatic shoreline, the crashing waves, and the dark sand made the perfect backdrop for Zach & Abby's very first photos as an engaged couple. There was so much excitement, so much laughter, and that "we're really engaged" feeling that you can only experience once.

These are the moments I love most—not overly posed, just two people soaking in one of the best days of their lives.

One of the biggest honors as a photographer is being trusted with a moment that only happens once.

Zach reached out with a plan to surprise Abby at Tettegouche State Park, and I was all in. My fiancé and our two dogs helped me make the hike to the overlook so we could stay hidden until the perfect moment.

Watching Zach get down on one knee while Abby realized what was happening is something I'll never forget. The excitement, the happy tears, and the pure joy made every step of the hike worth it.

Zach, thank you for trusting me to capture one of the most important moments of your lives. It means the world that I could be there to preserve memories you'll look back on forever.

One of my favorite places for engagement photos in Minnesota? The Minnesota State Capitol. 🤍

The marble walls, grand staircases, towering columns, and incredible architecture make every corner feel elegant and timeless. Whether you're dreaming of a classic editorial look or something that feels straight out of a movie, this location delivers every single time.

I love mixing the clean architectural lines with candid moments that feel effortless and true to who you are. It's the perfect combination of sophistication and genuine emotion.

If you're looking for an engagement session location that will never go out of style, the State Capitol is always at the top of my list.

This fountain and reflecting pool at Arneson Acres Park might just be one of my favorite hidden gems in the Twin Cities. It has such a peaceful, romantic feel.

As the evening slowed down, we spent some time by the water capturing the quieter moments. The way Ben looks at Madison, the reflections, and the soft summer light all came together so effortlessly.

These are the kinds of photos that never go out of style.

So excited for everything that's ahead for these two. 🤍

Can we talk about these gardens for a second? The lush green hedges at Arneson Acres Park create the dreamiest backdrop, but these two completely stole the show.

Some couples need a little warming up in front of the camera... not these two. From the first few minutes, they were laughing, smiling, and making each other forget I was even there. Those are always my favorite moments to capture.

There is something so timeless about simple greenery, genuine smiles, and two people who are completely in love.

There are few moments more exciting than hearing the words, “Will you marry me?” 🤍💍

Ben planned the sweetest surprise rooftop proposal for Madison, and getting to capture every second of it was such an honor. From the nerves before she arrived to the excitement after she said “YES!”—it was one of those moments they’ll remember forever.
