We’re honored to share that our short branded documentary “Power in Community”, created in partnership with Solar United Neighbors, has won both Silver and Bronze at the 47th Annual Telly Awards for Branded Content in the Sustainability and Energy & Utilities categories.

This project took us across Texas, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. to uplift the voices of homeowners, advocates, and community leaders using solar energy to strengthen resilience, expand opportunity, and protect energy rights.

More than a story about solar, this film became a story about people, neighbors supporting neighbors, leadership rooted in service, and communities building a more sustainable future together.

We’re especially grateful to Ms. Doris Brown, Anya Schoolman, Tommye Fafes, Jennifer South, and every person who trusted us with their stories along the way.

What would it look like if financial institutions actively worked to repair harm, expand opportunity, and center fairness, accountability, and community wellbeing, especially for those historically excluded from the financial system?

Over the past few years, we’ve partnered with to capture real-world examples of what this can look like in practice – through institutions like , , and .

We’re kicking things off with “NOFFCU: Putting People First to Build Generational Wealth” – a Telly, Anthem, and Shorty Award-winning story – as a powerful example of what this work can look like in practice.

These aren’t just stories – they’re proof points. Living examples of financial institutions rethinking risk, redefining responsibility, and showing what’s possible when impact is embedded into the core of the work.

This series is designed to spark new ideas and support financial leaders who want to strengthen their impact while building resilient, responsible institutions.

Our time in Minneapolis was transformational.

We teamed up with , a cooperatively-owned lending and investment fund serving co-ops across the country, to highlight the power of cooperative ownership.

Among the co-ops we captured is Mercado Central — home to 35 small businesses and a thriving, multigenerational cultural hub advancing Latino entrepreneurship in Minneapolis. A true beacon of community-driven economic development.

We had the privilege of spending time with Ms. Doris Brown — a Northeast Houston resident of 58 years, Co-Founder of the Northeast Action Collective, and a powerful leader within West Street Recovery.

Through her partnership with , Ms. Doris secured solar for her home — transforming it into what she calls a “hub home.” When severe storms and grid failures hit the region, hers is the only house on the block that keeps the lights on. Neighbors come for shelter, electricity, emergency supplies, and safety. Community literally gathers around her.

When we asked Ms. Doris why she continues to do this work at 75 years old, she shared words that stayed with us:

“God’s been priming me for this moment…”
“If you’re given a gift and you don’t spread that gift…”
“I can’t go through life with my hand closed…”
