The New Brighton Area Historical Society was founded in 1980 to encourage the preservation of artifacts and history about the New Brighton and the old Mounds View Township area.

The SOO Railroad Line later donated their 1880's railroad depot to the historical society. After some restoration, the historical society transition the centuries-old building into their current New Brighton History Center.

The history center is free to visit and open Saturday's and Sunday's from June thru September.

Founded as a township in 1858, the same year Minnesota became a state, Maple Grove now has more than 55 miles of trails, 50 city parks, over 150 restaurants and retail space comparable to Mall of America.

The Maple Grove Historical Preservation Society was founded in 1985 to help preserve the history of the area.

Minnesota has one of the most beautiful state capitol buildings in the US.

Completed in 1905, the Minnesota Capitol building is filled with spaces telling the story of Minnesota history. One fascinating room is the Governors Reception Room.
