Rope Tornado forms right over our heads and dances in the sky for 3-4 minutes. What an incredible site to see 🌪️ This was our second tornado of the day during our July 1st, 2026 storm chase in northern Iowa.

To a lot of you, this may look like a sh*tty lightning photo. But to me, it serves as a reminder as to how dangerous lightning photography can be and a reminder as to who is really in charge, Mother Nature. This bolt struck less than a couple blocks from me last night. The hairs on my arms instantly stood up. The thunder was some of the loudest if not the loudest I've ever heard. Did anyone else hear it last night at 1:53 am?

The best sunset I've ever seen in my life. Mother Nature is really showing off tonight. Love watching people from all of the city light off fireworks too. Every direction I look fireworks are going off.

This was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Watching a tornado form right in front of us was ridiculously epic to watch 🌪️ 🌪️ 🌪️

On July 1st 2026, Kelly and I decided to go on a storm chase to Southern MN/Northern Iowa. It was a complex setup but if supercells were able to fire and remain discrete, tornados were possible.

We ended up having an insanely fun storm chasing adventure. We met up with our storm chasing friends Scraps and Mike Marz. Mike is infamous for close range tornado intercepts and this chase was no different. He got us in the perfect position to watch this tornado form. Appreciate you guys for letting us tag along, we had an epic time and it is a day we will never forget.
