This year MAYBE I’ll be better at showing more of myself on this account 🤪
Hello hello! I’m Cristina!
I was born and raised in Maryland- and to be honest, all of my life I've wanted to move out of state the second I got a chance. It was so difficult to see anything worthwhile about staying here. I was so tired of seeing & doing the same old things.
A few years back, I switched my perspective to try and see the good in where I am and what I have. This was a gamechanger- and although it took a while, I would notice and be grateful for little things bit by bit.
Simple things like driving down backroads and seeing the beautiful green arches of light beaming through & being grateful I live somewhere with unending green. I'd see gorgeous houses with soo much character and big back yards. Winding roads & local coffee shops we visit weekly. So many simple things to be thankful for.
Summers filled with beach memories- camping at Assateague, campfires, sunset swims, and weekend beach trips with the family. All things I truly adore doing and can't wait to do with my own children.
Going canoeing daily, swimming, biking, and picnics by the river with my brothers are things I constantly look forward to. I am so grateful for all 4 seasons, I used to hate winter but now I crave the cold & can't wait for snow- so picturesque and jaw-dropping.
I love having all my family close & being able to drop in and see them whenever. I love my church and everything I have learned & all the growth it pushed me to do.
I have loved being able to travel to other states & countries to see as much as I can possibly see- this has helped so much as well in seeing Maryland as home.
I would envision moving to places I'd visit- no place checked all the boxes perfectly. Although it isn't perfect, although not all the people I wish were here are, although there may be somewhere better- being content & thankful for where I am right now has brought so much peace.
And when I feel like I need more- that's what traveling & exploring is for- helps cure the wanderlust, see the big picture, and all the beauty that this world has to offer.
But for now- this is home 😌
