I love to take photos of the city and the countryside around Milwaukee. I have posted a photo a day on Facebook since July, 2011.

6.13.2026 Change of focus

This was taken from the exactly same spot, within seconds of my other post today and using the same camera settings. The only difference is where I focused the lens.

Another new piece, “Morning Reflections”. On the heels of my post yesterday, this piece came together fairly quickly. Milwaukee friends might recognize this Colectivo window - the base image is from a Saturday coffee on the lake and a chance reflection. I had completely forgotten about this 2022 image - it popped out as I reviewed my fourteen years of “Project 365”. I really like the depth of the reflection.

New work - “On the Avenue”. It’s funny that some pieces are done in a flash and others require weeks of consideration and work - and sometimes some breathing space. I always have to print at least three 8x12 prototype pieces - inner, middle, outer.

This set a record at fifteen. I made several and thought it was ‘right’ so printed it full size and hung the piece in our dining room. Nope, not right but why/how? I swapped the middle and outer panels - nope. Left it on the wall for at least three weeks and thought about it every time I went by. Maybe it’s ’good enough’. Nope. Last week I went back at it to fine-tune the outer panel - about eight prototypes pieces later, I think I have it.
