The MKE Short Film Fest is coming up on SEPT 11+12 and you SHOULD BE THERE! You've got three showings to consider - one feature showing and THREE blocks of short films!

Some folks think working a step-and-repeat is boring, but I don't! With a simple backdrop, and an on-camera flash, the photo is allll about the personality of the people in front of me, and that is fun to capture. The MKE Short Film Fest is gonna be here soon and I am soooo looking forward to photoing it again!!

Between my recent trip to Germany with the Wisconsin UCC Gospellers, and last week's trip to St. Louis for National Family Farm Coalition, my camera bags have been getting a good workout! Luckily, my OM System gear is relatively lightweight and compact (for professional gear), so travel is pretty easy!

It was such a pleasure of mine to travel to St. Louis to photograph the NFFC! Having been raised on a WI dairy farm, making photos of these passionate, dedicated, diverse farmers was a thrill.

Greetings from St. Louis!! For our Annual Gathering, representatives from our member organizations convened over two days in St. Louis, at the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. This was an extra special gathering for it marked 40 years since our founding in 1986.

We are super grateful for our co-host and founding member Missouri Rural Crisis Center as well as all the members, past presidents, and allies who made the trek to celebrate with us! And a special shout-out to Patchwork Family Farms for providing delicious local fare!

While 99% of what I do is people-photography, it can be darn nice on occasion to look at a subject that doesn't talk back. 😉
Nature is beautiful and is nothing but INSPIRATION. I recently re-saw this old transparency and needed to share it with you all again. As I saw on a sticker the other day: how you treat the water is how you treat people.
We gotta TAKE CARE OF OUR WATER.
