I have a habit of collecting beautiful things.

Wildflowers pressed into books.
Old botanical illustrations.
Weathered gold frames.
Tiny ceramic handmade bowls.

It turns out I collect beautiful moments, too.

Little pieces of summer, preserved with watercolor on paper.

These hand-embellished portraits were from a girls’ weekend with my cousin, Krystina, and our girls, Ava and Evelyn, at Lavender Fest hosted by Creekside Gardens & Events. We wandered the lavender fields, found vintage treasures, discovered talented local makers and musicians.

Here’s to slowing down, making things with our hands, and finding beauty in the little moments.

A dreamy weekend wrapped in lavender haze and golden sunshine 💜

One of the highlights of our girls’ trip to Door County was visiting Fragrant Isle on Washington Island. We wandered through rows of blooming lavender, gathering our own bouquets as the scent lingered in the warm air, then explored the charming gift shop before leaving with a stack of floral books to inspire our gardens back home.

The entire weekend felt like a perfect blend of relaxation and discovery—antiquing, savoring incredible food, and soaking in the natural beauty that makes Door County so special. I’m so grateful for moments like these and the memories made with Krystina. 🌿✨

As someone who spends her days styling scenes, photographing food/agriculture, and finding beauty in the details, I can already picture the speckled olive and earthy toned eggs filling vintage bowls and kitchen tables someday soon. Tiny future works of art straight from the coop. 🤎🐣

The peeping, the warm straw, the textures, the colors, the early morning farm light… these are the kinds of moments that inspire everything I create.

There’s something special about surrounding yourself with beautiful things, weathered wood, gathered props, fresh ingredients, garden blooms… and now tiny feathered additions to the farm.

This may be my second year raising chicks, but it was my very first time ordering them online, and honestly, I was a little nervous. Cackle Hatchery made the entire experience feel thoughtful, smooth, and exciting from start to finish. I ordered 9 chicks and opened the box to the sweetest surprise, 12 healthy little peeps, with an extra of each breed tucked inside.

Now I’m curious…
1. This space isn’t quite a kitchen and definitely not a dining room… what would you call it? (I’m between “coffee cove” and “morning nook” but open to better ideas!)
2. I’m dreaming up ways to make it feel more like a charming café — thinking jars of coffee beans, loose-leaf teas, maybe a chalkboard menu over the cabinets. What would you add to give it that extra dose of barista vibes?
